Product detailed description
Gorila na ledu is a fast-paced card game in which you search for the correct habitat for lost animals before the others do. Every time a new card is turned over, it can change the situation on the table in an instant and decide the winner.
Gorila na ledu is designed for anyone who enjoys fast-paced reaction games where every second counts. You’ll enjoy it most when playing as a family, with children, or as a light-hearted game between more challenging titles. 2–6 players can take their seats at the table; the recommended age is 6 years and over, and you should allow approximately 10 minutes per game. The rules can be explained in a jiffy, but the game itself will very quickly convince you that quick eyes and hands are only half the battle. It’s just as important to keep your cool and not let yourself be carried away by the pace of the other players. This is precisely why both children and adults can enjoy the game together.
In the world of Gorila na ledu, the animals have ended up where they definitely don’t belong. A gorilla is shivering on an ice floe, a penguin is wandering through the desert, a spider has appeared on a frozen lake, and other animals are searching in vain for their true homes. Your task is to find the correct pair as quickly as possible – that is, the animal and the environment to which it truly belongs. As soon as you spot one, you must slap both matching cards down in a flash to claim them for yourself. But everyone is searching at the same time, so every second counts.
This seemingly simple concept is gradually enriched by special cards. Some show an animal already in the correct environment and can be snapped up with a single hand; others combine two animals or two environments, allowing you to claim all the cards currently on the table. As a result, it’s not enough to keep an eye on just one pair. You must constantly assess the entire situation on the table and decide which opportunity is the most advantageous. Any hesitation could mean your opponent snatches the entire table right from under your nose.
What’s more, the game penalises hastiness. If you slap the wrong combination or use the incorrect slapping method, you must return one card you’ve already collected to your draw pile. It is precisely this minor penalty that keeps the tension high right up until the final moments of the game. Beginners can start with a simplified version using only some of the special cards, whilst more experienced players can make use of all the special effects, which further increase the pace and challenge of the game.

- Cheerful illustrations of animals in completely unexpected settings will entertain both children and adults and give every game a unique atmosphere.

The game was created by German game designer Thomas Weber, who has been developing board games since 2017. The illustrations were created by German illustrator ARVi (Rolf Vogt), whose cartoonish style really emphasises the game’s humorous atmosphere, and the original publisher is Drei Magier, a brand under Schmidt Spiele.
Gorila na ledu also expands the popular range of smaller reaction games, which includes titles such as ‘Blafuj!’, ‘Cockroach Salad’, ‘Tarantula Tango’ and ‘Túry Můry’. Like the other titles in this series, it relies on simple rules, fast-paced games and instant fun for the whole family.
