Product detailed description

From the creators of the global hits Zbodni salát and Zboduj město comes the fast-paced and imaginative family card game Vesmírná bodysea. This time, you’ll venture into the depths of space, where, as stellar architects, you’ll set about building your own galaxy. The game is based on an elegant principle of card selection and set-building, complemented by clever spatial planning and the creation of numerical sequences.

At the heart of the game are 140 unique double-sided cards. On one side you’ll find planets of various sizes and colours, whilst the reverse side features celestial bodies such as suns, moons, asteroids and wormholes. Your aim is to create the highest-scoring network of planetary systems within 13 fast-paced turns. Each sun card provides its own scoring condition for the system in question; moons require adjacency to the correct colours of planets; asteroids reward dominance over opponents; and wormholes allow you to skilfully circumvent the laws of gravity.

The game features accessible rules that can be explained in a matter of minutes, whilst also offering plenty of tactical choices and combinations for more experienced players. Thanks to a diverse range of scoring paths and unique cards, no two games will ever be the same. What’s more, it boasts a superbly designed solo mode featuring a virtual opponent, Copernicus, and a campaign comprising 15 different challenges.

A game lasts exactly 13 rounds, during which players take turns. A shared selection of nine cards is laid out on the table – six planets face-up and three celestial bodies on top of the draw piles. On their turn, a player takes any two cards (two planets, two celestial bodies, or a combination of both). They must immediately place them in front of them in their emerging galaxy – either to expand one of their existing systems or to establish a new one.

At the heart of the game is working with the numerical values of the planets (1–7). As soon as you place a second planet card in a system’s column, you determine the direction of the entire sequence, which must then strictly ascend or descend. The more different numerical values you manage to incorporate into a system, the more points it will earn you. If you are missing a suitable number, you can use a wormhole, which interrupts the gravitational sequence and allows you to start the sequence afresh. Sun cards, on the other hand, define bonus conditions for their entire system, whilst moons only earn you points if you place them next to planets of the corresponding colours.

At the end of each turn, a player checks the symbols on their cards. For every 5 rocket symbols collected, they may choose one rocket token, which provides an additional individual scoring objective for the end of the game (e.g. points for specific colours, the number of suns or exploration sets). Once the card supply has been replenished, the next player takes their turn. After 13 rounds, the last 7 cards remain in the supply, followed by the final scoring in the scorepad, where the winner is the player who has built the most efficient galaxy.
