A new novel from the world of aliens tells the life story of Colonial Marine private Jenette Vasquez, the popular wounded warrior known from the movie Aliens, and her family. Sealed her fate by an ill-fated mission to the planet LV-426, Vasquez has had to fight hard all her life to survive. Born into a family of immigrants with a long military tradition, she has always been drawn to the stars. But before she made it to space, she faced tough years in a street gang and later in prison, from which she found a tempting way out through her service in the Marine Corps.
